My little bright-faced, bright-eyed chickadee. No longer a baby, not big enough to be a big kid (but don't tell her that). Lately Haven loves being part of circle time at Strong Start. She wants to sit with the bigger kids and she has finally started participating in the songs and stories. I remember when Sonja was this age and how fun it was to just sit back and watch her navigate her world. It's just as fun the second time.
Yesterday they sang and danced the Hokey Pokey and Haven was thrilled. She was a little bit mesmerized by the teacher so she didn't execute a lot of the moves, but she managed to get in some twirls and bounces and wiggles. And she smiled the entire time.
And when the singing was all over, it was time to sit back down for story time. ...except Haven refused to sit. As usual, she wanted to stand through the whole thing.
I think she does it in case they break out into a song and dance again; she wants to be ready.
