Sleepyhead.

Yep, that's Haven asleep on the couch in the middle of the afternoon. It wouldn't necessarily be strange, but Haven hasn't napped in months. And the fact that she fell asleep at 3pm was no good; her 7pm bedtime turned into a contest between her and Sonja to see who could stay up the latest. Not sure who won, but I stopped hearing them talking to each other at around 9pm.

I simply cannot resist the cuteness of a sleeping child. Sonja loved it so much that she wouldn't leave Haven alone; she poked her nose, kissed her, and then finally crawled up and cuddled her.

The photos are definitely worth the late bedtime. ...Well, they're at least an adorable consolation.

What cute looks like.

It's summer and things get busy in the summer. Or I get lazy; I can't remember which way that goes. Both, most likely. Either way, I've been posting less and have accumulated a bunch of great photos that simply must be seen.

This is just a small selection, but if you want to know what cute looks like, scroll down.

One of Sonja's preschool classmates had a kick-ass birthday party. There was a freakin' PONY at this party.

I asked the boy's Mom and she said it was both awesome and inexpensive; the lady showed up in a mini van with this adorable little pony in the back. Seriously. She had a little ramp for it and everything. This pony was very sweet and docile and needless to say, all the kids were pumped.

A couple weeks later, I took Sonja and Haven camping at Goldstream Park with a few other parents from Sonja's preschool. There were lots of other kids there and everyone had a blast. It was a very successful first-time camping experience.

We went on a guided nature walk on the second day and Sonja stayed up at the front of the group, while Haven lingered near the back, mesmerized by the laminated sheet of "things to look for".

Eventually Haven and a (crazy-beautiful) little boy named Jaytwan teamed up and when I looked back, I couldn't fumble for my camera fast enough. They held hands for quite awhile and it was even cuter than portrayed in these photos. Unbelievable.

Here's to cute.
