I didn't tell Sonja that her best friend Ana was coming over this afternoon after Haven's nap. She was so stunned, she barely said hello when Ana, her brother Jonas and their Mom (and my good friend) Sarah walked through the door.
After some running around inside the house, we eventually wrangled the kids into their boots and coats and set them free in the park. They literally scattered. These are the moments where analogies about "herding cats" are born.
You know, this is why I walk around with my camera turned on and ready to go; you never want to miss a spontaneous hug between best friends who just happen to be wearing identical coats.
Ana spent a good amount of time during the beginning of our walk calling out for Jett. Sonja joined in a bit at first, but she clearly didn't find Jett's activities as interesting as Ana did.
Ana lost interest eventually and then the two girls just spent their time running wildly around, while Sarah and I yelled after them to wait up; Jonas and Haven are dilly-dalliers.
The last time we attempted a group walk at the park, Haven screamed and cried the entire time. I remember being absolutely perplexed, since she loves walking the dog; it was so out of character.
Today's visit and walk was very successful and enjoyable. Yay, team. Let's do it all again soon.
